BKL makes aDovetail to Picatinny riser set that elevates the mounting arrangement 1/2" so the Mounts can be used to clear larger objective scopes. Each riser is 1" long with two clamp screws and one picatinny slot cut.The guns centerline is always honored with any MIL SPEC Weaver which is what Picatinny means. The BKL system often allows the use of open sights with scope mounted. This is because of the central slot in the BKL extrusion. I find this slot very handy to get me close to the target with my optics whenever I'm having difficulty finding an elusive target. You can use a huge variety of quality mounts that feature Quick Release and positive remounting every time. It is something you can trust to stay put and hold zero.
The LD MKI pistol we make is one of the best candidates for this riser set as the weak rail of any die cast frame is going to get thrashed by mounting conventional dovetail ring widths repeatedly. The clamping load on the dovetail is spread over two inches and the groove angle and width is like the two pieces were made for each other and no rail damage can occur.
