Tim McMurray (The Ultimate AirGun Nut)
2011 is the 80th year of the service
organization my Gramps (Les McMurray's Fin, Fur
& Feather) founded in 1932. It will
represent the 30th year of my ownership as the
third generation of McMurrays doing AirGun
service. I've been working on airguns now for
over 45 years and the most interesting avenue
I've explored so far is the quest for superior
accuracy. No greater AirGun challenge exists.
The US FT Rifle has won the FT US Nats in
'05(Billy Lo #6), '07 & '09(Harold Rushton
#19) as well as the worlds in '07 thanks to Paul
Crays efforts with # 67. The BR Nats were won by
US FT's in '08 & '09. This is huge and will
be the primary area to push the limit.
Current focus is on the BR worlds to be shot in
Carolina in 2011. This will be at 50 meters @ 20
fpe with 15 lb. guns. Training starts next month
with a 20 fpe variation of the BR US FT.
I've earned a reputation for making accuracy
and I could not be more pleased about that.
Pushing the envelope is what makes it all so fun
I can hardly believe it has already represented
three decades of my life as owner. I know how
lucky I am to be able to compete with and build
these fine airguns. It is icing on the cake I've
shot fairly well for the last year. Enjoying
these guns in a competition environment is
exciting and satisfying.
I want to personally thank every competitor
using my gear for their dedication and hard
work. It takes a special type of person to be at
the top and it doesn't happen by accident. The
seemingly impossible shots they make are all
about trigger time and experience. They make it
look easy but it isn't.
I want to thank my Mom Neva Hood, my Dad Don
McMurray and my good friend Larry Durham for
helping me make my dream come true. Without them
I would not have been able to do what I've done.
I feel very blessed to be able to do something
I Love and make a living at it. Thanks so much
for sharing that passion with me.
